We are an international community of women, present on five continents.
We, the Mercedarian Missionaries of Berriz in the Philippines, are present in Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao, engaged in formal and non-formal education, community building, interreligious dialogue, retreat facilitation, and other pastoral ministries. We advocate for the care of our Common Home. In today’s global and local context, we are invited to see our reality with new eyes and new hearts. Our Earth, our Common Home, has been devastated by both human-made and natural calamities. Our world is in crisis, marked by divisions within and among nations, where government leaders are often more concerned with their own vested interests than with the common good. In the Philippines, corruption persists, with political and economic power largely concentrated in the hands of an oligarchy.
Amidst these realities, we, the Mission of the Philippines, together with the whole institute, are invited to continue our journey and allow ourselves to be touched by reality, especially the cry of our common home and the cry of the poor. As we live our Mercedarian Spirituality, we continue to open ourselves to the God of Jesus, allowing God to reshape us anew so that we can rediscover and share "this treasure in earthen vessels' (2Cor 4:7) in our world today.

Let us allow the God of Jesus to shape us anew

Our contact and presence with the young people are opportunities to offer formation and share our Liberating Charism and MMB Spirituality. These will guide and help them in living a Christian life and discover their vocation.
"We are committed to the education of persons that develops in a cultural environment to learn to be, learn to live together, learn to know, and learn to care."
This Ministry is a venue for shaping and molding our learners through our Redemptive Charism in a holistic/integral liberating Catholic Education.

The Tierra Madre and Villa Margarita Communities located in Zamboanga City, Mindanao, are housing projects both for Christians and Muslims living together. The two religious faith share life simply and strive to live with mutual respect and peaceful relationships, embracing interreligious dialogue at all times.

Margarita Hill Community is another housing project located in Manila, from the beginning this community was started through Basic Ecclesial Community. This encounter gives them the opportunity to share their own situations and became close to one another. They are now empowered leaders and members of the community.

The Justice Peace Integrity of Creation does not only ask us for concrete actions in solidarity, but a way of life. This is a motivating force and inspiration for all our presences, actions and various stages of life. Our openness to welcome and dialogue about life, a clear stance on any form of discrimination, respect and solidarity with the Universe.

The MMB Laity are persons who in responding to a call, opt to live the following of Jesus, in the light of the MMB Charism, within Laity communities as MMB Family.
